TikTok Publishing (Beta)

Publish videos to TikTok from the same place you write everything else. In beta and not yet switched on for customer accounts, pending TikTok's app review.

Beta. Not available on your account yet.

TikTok publishing is built and running, but it is switched off for customer accounts while TikTok reviews the BlackOps app. Nothing below is live for you today. This page is here so you know what is coming and what it will and will not do.

TikTok joins X, LinkedIn and Threads as a publishing channel. Draft a post, attach a video, publish it or schedule it, from the dashboard or from your agent over MCP.

What a TikTok post is

Always exactly one video plus a caption. No text-only posts, no image posts, no carousels, no threads. If you try to schedule a draft with no video attached, BlackOps rejects it up front instead of failing later at the scheduled moment.

CaptionUp to 2,200 characters, hashtags included
Videomp4, webm or quicktime, up to 4GB
PrivacyPublic, friends, followers, or private
InteractionTurn comments, duet or stitch off per post
DisclosureFlag paid partnerships, promotion of your own business, and AI-generated video

Those disclosure flags are TikTok policy requirements, not decoration. If your video uses a synthetic voice or generated footage, mark it. Mislabeling is the kind of thing that gets an app penalized.

Two ways to post

Direct post sends the video straight to your profile. This is the real thing, and it is what the app review unlocks.

Send to drafts uploads the video into your TikTok app drafts. You write the final caption and post it yourself. It needs no review, so it works first. It costs you one manual step per video.

One catch worth knowing before it lands: drafts mode does not carry your caption. TikTok requires a person to write it in the app, so your description and hashtags get typed there rather than in BlackOps.

Publishing takes longer than you expect

BlackOps uploads the video, then TikTok transcodes it. That usually takes seconds. Sometimes minutes.

If it is still going when the request returns, the post sits in processing and BlackOps confirms it automatically within about five minutes. That is a normal outcome, not a failure. Do not publish again while a post is processing, or the video goes up twice. The status moves to published on its own, with a link to the live video.

Links do not work in TikTok captions

TikTok does not make URLs in captions tappable. Only the Website field in your bio is a real link. You can put a URL in the caption or on screen in the video, but nobody can click it. Plan for "link in bio" and say the URL out loud if the video has narration.

Editing and deleting

TikTok's API supports neither for live videos. Edit a draft freely. Once a video is published, the caption changes only in the TikTok app, and deleting the post in BlackOps removes our record rather than the video. Delete the video itself in the app.

Scheduling

Same as the other channels. Pick a time and the scheduler picks it up on its next five minute pass. Failed publishes retry on a backoff of 5, 15, 30, 60 and 120 minutes before being marked failed.

What is left before this switches on

TikTok reviews apps before they can post to accounts other than the developer's own. Until that review clears, an unaudited app can only post to a TikTok account that is itself set to private, which is not a condition worth asking anyone to accept. When the review clears, this turns on for every account with no change on your end.
