YouTube Publishing
Connect a YouTube channel and upload videos, Shorts included, from BlackOps or from your agent over MCP. Uploads default to private.
YouTube joins TikTok as a video publishing channel. Connect a channel once, then upload from the dashboard or from an MCP client (Claude, ChatGPT, or anything else talking to the BlackOps connector).
Connecting a channel
Go to Promote → YouTube and click Connect YouTube channel. You'll authorize BlackOps on Google's consent screen with upload and read-only channel scopes, then land back in BlackOps with the channel connected. One channel can be connected per site. Reconnecting replaces the previous one.
Disconnecting removes BlackOps's access to upload on your behalf. It does not revoke the grant on Google's side; do that at myaccount.google.com/permissions for a full break.
Uploading a video
| Source | A BlackOps media asset, or a direct file URL |
| Formats | mp4, webm, mov/quicktime |
| Size | Up to 500MB per upload |
| Privacy | Private, unlisted, or public. Defaults to private |
| Made for kids | Defaults to false |
| Scheduling | Upload now, publish automatically at a future time |
Privacy defaults to private, on purpose
If you don't say otherwise, a video you upload through BlackOps is private, visible only to the connected account. Making it unlisted or public is always an explicit choice, never a default. This holds the same way for an MCP client: an agent has to be told to make something public, it never happens by omission.
YouTube Shorts
Set a video as a Short and BlackOps checks it before uploading: it must be vertical (taller than wide) and three minutes or less. A video that fails either check is rejected with a clear reason instead of uploading as a mislabeled Short.
Scheduling a publish time
Pass a future publish time and BlackOps uploads the video privately now, with YouTube set to flip it to its real privacy level automatically at that time. This is a YouTube requirement, not a BlackOps restriction. A scheduled video has to sit private until it goes live.
Large files and quota errors
Uploads use YouTube's resumable upload protocol and recover once from a dropped connection mid-transfer rather than restarting from zero. If YouTube's daily API quota is exhausted, you get a plain "try again after quota resets" message instead of a raw API error.
After uploading
BlackOps returns the video's watch URL and a studio.youtube.com link for reviewing or editing the video's details. You can check its processing status from the same surface. Changing a video's privacy after upload isn't available yet. Set the privacy you want at upload time.
MCP tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|

post_youtube | Upload a video (from a media asset or a file URL) |
get_youtube_post | Check a video's processing/upload status |
See the MCP tool surface for how these fit into the wider connector.
