Interactive Posts
Have your agent build a post as its own HTML page, with your site's look, then preview it on your domain and publish it yourself. Custom domains only.
An interactive post is a blog post your agent builds as a full HTML page instead of markdown, such as an explainer with a working calculator or a scroll story with video. The agent designs it with your site's colors, fonts and voice, and sends it to BlackOps over MCP. You open the preview on your own domain and publish it from the admin. Agents can create and change drafts, but only a person can publish.
Interactive posts are only available on sites served from their own custom domain. On a site's blackopscenter.com address the post page links to the custom domain instead.
How it works
- The agent reads your design kit.
get_interactive_design_kitreturns your site's colors and fonts as CSS variables, a few starter components (hero, section, callout, media figure, button), your media library address, your brand voice, and the rules the page has to follow. - The agent uploads media first. Images and video go into your media library (Image & Document Upload), and the page uses those URLs.
- The agent submits a draft.
create_interactive_post_drafttakes the HTML with a title, a one-line summary and an optional OG image from your media library. BlackOps runs the publish check, saves the draft and returns what it removed and a preview link. - The agent fixes and resubmits.
patch_interactive_postupdates the draft. The agent repeats this until the publish check comes back clean. - You review and publish. Open the post in the BlackOps admin, open the preview on your domain, and press Publish. That publishes the exact version you previewed. If the agent changes the draft after you open the panel, Publish asks you to look again.
You can unpublish from the same panel. The published copy is kept, so publishing again puts it back.
The tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
get_interactive_design_kit | Your site's tokens, fonts, components, media prefixes, rules and brand voice. Read-only. |
create_interactive_post_draft | Create a draft from HTML, title, summary, optional OG image, slug, tags and SEO fields. |
patch_interactive_post | Update a draft. On a live post only the HTML can change, and it becomes a new draft for review. |
get_interactive_post | The draft's status, publish-check report, preview link and live link. |
There is no publish tool. post_posts_by_id_publish, post_posts_by_id_schedule and patch_posts_by_id refuse interactive posts with HUMAN_PUBLISH_REQUIRED.
These tools are in the full catalog rather than the default set. An agent finds them with describe_tools and calls them with use_tool.
What the page can and can't do
Your post runs inside a sandboxed frame on your post page, so code in it can't reach your site, your visitors' sessions or anything else in BlackOps. Design around these limits:
- Scripts: inline
<script>blocks run, and so do scripts fromcdn.jsdelivr.net,unpkg.comandcdnjs.cloudflare.com. Anything else is removed. - Styles and fonts: inline styles, plus stylesheets and fonts from Google Fonts and the script hosts above.
- Media: only URLs from your site's media library, plus small inline images (up to 16 KB).
- Embeds: YouTube (shown as youtube-nocookie) and Vimeo players. Other iframes are removed.
- Network:
fetchand similar calls only reach your media library. Put any data the page needs inline. - Storage: cookies,
localStorage, sessionStorageand IndexedDB aren't available. Keep state in memory. - Forms: they can't submit anywhere. Handle input in a script. Password fields are removed.
- Event handlers:
onclick=and the like are removed. UseaddEventListener. - Links open in the full window.
- Size: HTML up to 512 KB.
The publish check reports every removal with what it was and, where there is one, what to do instead. The agent reads that report and fixes its page.
Search, previews and the text version
Readers see your site's header and footer around the post. The page itself carries the title, summary and a Text version of the post, built from the headings, paragraphs, lists and image alt text in the HTML. That text is what search engines, link previews, RSS, listings and screen readers get. Put the words of the post in real headings and paragraphs, not in images or a canvas.
Previews are only reachable with their link, are marked noindex, and show a banner saying they're a draft. Preview links last 30 days. Once one expires, the agent gets a new link the next time it updates or reads the post.
Brand voice
Publishing runs the brand voice check on the title and the text version, like any other post. If it fails, the panel shows why, and you can revise or publish anyway.
