Your Trial and Billing

How the trial works, when the first charge happens, what notice you get beforehand, and how to cancel yourself at any point before the trial ends.

The trial is a real subscription that has not started billing yet. You add a card when you sign up, nothing is charged that day, and the trial converts to a paid subscription when the window closes. If you do not want it to convert, you cancel, and cancelling does not cut your access short.

What happens at signup

You add a payment method before you reach the dashboard. That creates your subscription in a trial state.

Nothing is charged at signup. The card sits on file so that the trial has somewhere to convert to.

What happens at the end of the trial

On the day your trial ends, the card on file is charged for one month of BlackOps Center. Your subscription moves to active and continues month to month from there.

You will have heard from us before this happens. Three days before the charge date we email you with the exact amount and the exact date, along with a link to cancel if you would rather not continue.

Cancelling

Cancel from Account → Plan → Cancel Subscription at any point before the trial ends. You do not need to email anyone and you do not need to explain yourself.

Cancelling stops the conversion charge. It does not end your trial early. Your access continues to the original trial end date, so there is no advantage to waiting until the last day.

If you change your mind after cancelling, subscribe again from the same screen.

If a payment fails

A declined card at conversion does not silently end your account. The subscription moves to a past due state, you are notified, and you can update the card from the account page.

Existing trials without a card

Accounts that started a trial before card collection existed keep the trial they were given. Nothing about them changes and nothing will be charged, because there is no card to charge. Those trials end on their original date.

If you are on one of those trials and want to continue past it, add a payment method from the prompt in the app and your trial converts the same way a new one does.
